Trader Joe’s Herb Crust Pie

I have returned from a long journey, pardon my absence. I come to you know with a renewed sense of purpose, and refined taste buds.

This week I baked a pie with Trader Joe’s Herb Pizza Dough, topped with marinara, mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, red pepper, and Thai basil.


I lost my pizza baking platforms along my journey, so this was just naked on an aluminum sheet… not up to standards, but what is a pizza connoisseur supposed to do???? Make pizza anyway!


That said, the crust was flavorful, but the texture was just plain awful, and I blame no one more than myself. The toons were tasty, the Thai basil have it an interesting flavor- a tad “ethnic” but without being too powerful. The tomatoes and peppers did leak out a bit of their juice however, making the pizza top a little wet and sloppy.


Overall it was quite enjoyed, and very little was left over. My homework is clear; get a pizza stone!
